Yesterday, I spoke in our series on Christ on the topic of Christ the man.
I began by exploring things that demonstrated that Jesus is human (which I think should be reasonably clear upon a straight forward reading of the gospels). We also looked at some of the points that demonstrated the deity of Jesus. Then we looked at why Jesus came and what Jesus accomplished.
We spent the last half of the sermon looking at Hebrews 2:14-15 which explains that Jesus came as flesh and blood so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death – the devil and deliver those who through fear of death are subject to lifelong slavery.
The final challenge was regarding to how we live in the fear of death – and encouragement to live free of the fear of death.
