Last sunday I had the privilege of speaking from Psalm 119:1-24.  Psalm 119 is an interesting Psalm to study as it is an acrostic in Hebrew – split into 22 sections of eight verses each, with each of the eight verses in each section starting with the same hebrew letter of the alphabet.

The theme and title of the talk was "Its Gods word – read it".

I broke the talk into four points drawn from the Psalm:

  • Desire – specifically for the Lord – based on root values
  • Purpose – we can set the purpose for our lives – what the Psalmist had set a purpose of
  • Prayer – necessary to understand the word
  • Practice – specifically what it was that the Psalmist did (and that we can do)
